About Us

The orchestra was founded by the Audubon YMCA in 1991 as the Community Orchestra of the YMCA. This was later changed to the Audubon YMCA Symphony Orchestra. In mid-2000, the orchestra changed to its present name and was adopted by a new sponsor, namely the Montgomery County Cultural Center (MCCC) located in downtown Norristown. The valuable support of MCCC carried ASO through to the Fall of 2006 when the orchestra formed its own identity retaining the name Audubon Symphony Orchestra.

Over the years the group has performed in a variety of venues including the King of Prussia Mall, the Phoenixville Dogwood Festival, area churches and senior communities.

Our concerts are filled with well-known music: Broadway show tunes, movie soundtracks, popular classical music, as well as some lesser-known selections. Our repertoire ranges from Beethoven and Bernstein to Bruno Mars and Beach Boys.

Additionally, the orchestra has smaller ensembles that perform at area events, such as the Audubon String Quartet and the Fiddlechix.

Audubon Symphony Orchestra Inc is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
